KERENSA DIBALL and YUHUI NG-RODRIGUEZ are performance-makers who share interests in site, movement practices, daily rituals and the domestic. Kerensa was born in Arnhem Land and is Melbourne-based; Yuhui was born in Singapore and is now Geelong-based. Kerensa investigates the connections between personal histories and broader socio-political contexts; Yuhui attempts to find a connection between space and human, country and citizen, home and inhabitant, body and culture.

They co-created Baby Cake(Next Wave 2018), a live art project about their differing decisions around childbearing and motherhood;Neighbours (Big West Festival 2015), a performance in the homes of Footscray residents, who also performed in the work. Kerensa and Yuhui were commissioned by Melbourne Fringe for its keynote project, Uncommon Places (2015), for which they created a site-specific audio tour in search of the retired lift-operators of the Nicholas Building. They were artist-facilitators for Museum of Me (Darebin Arts 2016), an eleven-week residency and performance project based in Westgarth Aged Care.

They were recognised for their potential as emerging artists, with Yuhui awarded Australia Council’s Artstart in 2015 and Kerensa receiving the Ian Potter Cultural Trust Grant in 2018.

ROMAN TUCKER has 20 years of experience in professional performance, soundscape design and composition within Australia and overseas. Roman is the founding member, composer and lead musician in alternative rockband Rocket Science. The band has enjoyed international acclaim for their five albums, numerous EPs and singles released on labels in Australia, UK, Europe and Japan.

 

His recent theatre collaborations with Kerensa and Yuhui include The Kick Inside (2019, Melbourne Fringe), Baby Cake (2018, Next Wave) and Neighbours (2015, Big West Festival). In 2010 Roman created a sound design for Merriville, a theatre piece by Scotchmer St Experiment. In 2011, Roman worked for Snuff Puppets theatre company, writing and performing for their stage show Snuff Lab. Roman also continued work for Snuff Puppets in 2012, collaborating and writing music on their stage production Everybody.
